Got to Lose Your Way
A 2 track jazz-funk single (11m 3s) — released July 23rd 2007 on Haggis Records
Fresh from the success of last year's massive "Traveller" single, The Haggis Horns are back. Currently on tour with Mark Ronson's (in place of the Dap Kings!), the boys have taken some time out to drop another slice of funk-fuelled magic for the summer. Lead track "Got To Lose Your Way" sees the band enlist long-term collaborator John McCallum on vocal duties. In keeping with the quality of his last appearance on debut single "Hot Damn" Scotland's answer to Stevie Wonder does not disappoint, over the funkiest backing track this side of the JBs. This is gonna be huge in the clubs - no question. The tempo doesn't drop on the flip, with another dancefloor destroyer from the horns. The band's take on the Kool & The Gang classic "Who's Gonna Take The Weight" is a crowd favourite from their live shows. Taken from the classic "Live At The Sex Machine" album, the Haggis' version is just as funky, with their trademark horn licks and heavy grooves to the fore.
